Real Estate
Some gifts of real estate may be sold to release their value for other NUS initiatives; others are preserved as valuable additions to the University's landholdings. The Baba House museum is among the latter, housed in a unique heritage building that comes to us thanks to a generous $4 million gift from Ms Agnes Tan.
In April 2005, Ms Tan funded the purchase and restoration of the historic Wee residence on Neil Road, in order to promote the study and preservation of Peranakan architecture and culture, in Singapore and beyond.
Thanks to the passion of one engaged donor, our newest museum opens its doors in 2008.
