A new professorship will be set up at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, thanks to a $3 million gift from the Yong Shook Lin Trust.
The Professorship, to be named in honour of Mr Yong Pung How, Chief Justice of Singapore from 1990 to 2006, will enable the School to attract the world’s top public policy talent, so as to facilitate the exchange of ideas and research on latest global public policy developments.
The generous gift is expected to have a lasting impact on the region. Many of the School’s students return to their home countries upon graduation to help shape and create policies that affect the future governance and development of their respective nations.
