Scientists at NUS’ Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research can now do that, thanks to a S$600,000 gift from HSBC.
The gift will fund Project Semakau, a three-year census of the abundant flora and fauna at Semakau landfill.

Mdm Chew Teck Neo’s family makes S$250,000 gift in her memory to support bursaries. An ordinary but enterprising woman, Mdm Chew managed to buy a home for all her seven children. Says her daughter: “To celebrate her life is to celebrate the lives of so many women like her to whom we are all indebted”.
