It is our hope that students who benefited will remember this, and at some time in their life help young and gifted people in a similar way.
Uwe Derboven
German-born Uwe Derboven worked in Asia for 30 years, but it was the 11 he spent in Singapore that were closest to his heart. In April 2006 he and his wife gave NUS two thirds of their estate to found the Francoise and Uwe Derboven Postgraduate Scholarships, which will cover tuition and stipends for Asian graduates who have proven their excellence in economics, law, computer science and medicine.
